SUSTAINABLE LEADERS FORUM

Avril

Description

Avril is the industrial and financial player in the oil and protein sectors. Created in 1983 on the initiative of the agricultural world in order to develop sustainable outlets for French production of plants rich in oil (rapeseed, sunflower, olive, soybean, etc.) and proteins (peas, beans, lupins, etc.), Avril has become a major industrial and financial group over the last 40 years. Avril was built and operates according to an original model: a chain organization in which each activity creates value for all the links in the chain. Starting with the seed and its two indissociable co-products, oil and protein, the Group has developed a whole chain of activities in the plant and animal sectors that complement each other and work in synergy, from upstream to downstream. It is now present in France and abroad (where it generates 46% of its sales) in sectors as diverse as human food, animal nutrition and expertise, renewable energies and chemistry, and is building its growth on a portfolio of strong brands, leaders in their markets, such as Sanders, Lesieur, Puget, Costa d'Oro, Matines, Oleo100, Diester, Bunica, Taous... To serve its mission, the Group relies on the complementarity of its two businesses: an industrial business, organized into five areas of activity, and an investment business through Sofiprotéol, its financing and development company. Avril is a group characterized by a solid collective shareholding, strong agricultural and territorial roots, and the systematic reinvestment of its results in the development of national industries wherever it operates. In 2020, the Avril Group achieved a turnover of 5.8 billion euros. It has 7,571 employees in 19 countries.
